Mr. Benjamin Franklin was a printer by trade and an innovator by obsession. His gift was to envision a hole in the market and then work on a way to fill the gap. He flew a kite to prove that static electricity and lightning contained the same electrical energy. He had already introduced the lighting rod, but he could still see future holes in the electricity market.
Today there are hundreds of thousands of holes that need to be filled. The good news is that entrepreneurs and inventors, in the tradition of Franklin, are working to build the bridges over the holes. We witness this ingenuity being applied by the people who are offering solutions to the oil clean-up in the Gulf and those working to house the displaced Haitian’s.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “Diligence is the mother of good luck”. We are happy to see that the diligent work of founders, programmers and thinkers are moving internet innovation forward.
Inventing online gift exchanges
We have seen the hole that is left when children leave the nest and distance causes problems with gift giving. We are working hard to fill that hole with an online version of the white elephant gift exchange.
We honor Benjamin Franklin for his great contributions to our world and we commit to diligently working toward filling the holes that we see in family gift giving.
What holes do you see that need solutions?
