Santa in July

PartyWeDo NOTE:  We missed July, but we did not want to miss sharing this information from Princess Phant..

Here at AlbinoPhant, we love Christmas. It is, after all, white elephant party season! That’s why I was delighted to read recently about the growing popularity of Christmas in July parties… why wait until December to have a Christmas party, after all?! By July, the twinkling lights, snow, carols manger scenes are a distant memory, and next Christmas seems so far away. Maybe you’re tired of the summer heat, and bored with beach scenes and barbeques. Time to bring Christmas back!

Hosting a Christmas in July party gives everyone something different to look forward to. And what’s more Christmassy than a gift exchange party, right? Invite your friends and family, and tell them the theme. Maybe they could even bring Christmas-related gifts! You, meanwhile, can set about preparing a miniature Christmas with which to delight your guests. You could dig out some of your festive ornaments and decorations – maybe a red and green centerpiece, some tinsel, twinkling lights, and candles. If you’ve kept any old Christmas cards, put them on display!

You might even want to prepare a Christmassy meal, if you’re planning to serve food. Or if it’s just nibbles, offer some of the usual party food you’d prepare during the holidays. And if you really want to go all out, how about some Christmas in July party favors? This could be done in a couple of ways. Either you could give your guests summery items (like novelty shades, or suncream) in a small Christmas stocking, or you could do it the other way around and present them with Christmas trinkets (like candies and tree ornaments) in a child’s beach bucket!

With a bit of imagination, and some Christmas tunes playing in the background, you and your guests will feel like it really is Christmas in July as you play your white elephant gift exchange game. Merry Christmas (in July)!
