The name of Princess Phant is widely associated with elegance, style, and beauty. I don’t mean to boast; it would not be ladylike. However, I must confess that where fashion is concerned, I do know what I am talking about.
That’s why, when I heard about an idea for turning a white elephant party into something of a fashion show, I became very enthusiastic – my two favorite things, new clothes and white elephant parties, combined! I’d love to see some of these parties happening throughout the AlbinoPhant kingdom.
Here’s how it works. Make fashion your party’s theme. You can leave it at that, or you can make it more specific for extra fun. How about Seventies fashion, or clothes associated with the style of another country? Make it clear on your invitations that everyone must bring a gift as usual, but that this time it must fit in with the fashion theme – and it must be clothing (or accessories, if you wish!) relating to the stated theme.
Now, play your white elephant gift exchange game as normal – but with one twist for added fun. When someone opens a gift, they must then try it on and model it for everyone else! This can go a number of ways, as it can be really funny and silly if you’ve gone for a tacky or dated fashion style, or it can be more like a classy fashion show if everyone present has agreed to bring something really trendy and sought-after!
Either way, and however far you go with the fashion theme, it sounds like a great idea to me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some shopping to do…———————————————————-
